Biography
María Elisa Valdés is a researcher at Universidad de La Frontera (Temuco, Chile), where she joined in 2022. She obtained her Ph.D. in Mathematics from Universidad de Concepción (Chile) in September 2020, with a thesis entitled «About non-symplectic automorphisms of composite order of K3 surfaces», aimed at contributing to the classification of these automorphisms by determining the possible topological structures of the fixed locus and the eigenspace decomposition of the induced automorphism on the second singular complex cohomology group. In 2023 she joined the Centro de Excelencia Geometría en la Frontera. Her research interests focus on algebraic geometry, K3 surfaces and toric varieties.
